Data Deletion Instructions

How to delete your data from The Post Engine

Option 1: Delete your account

Log in at thepostengine.com, go to Settings, and click "Delete Account." This permanently deletes your account and all associated data, including your Brand DNA profiles, competitor reports, generated content, connected account tokens, and personal information. Most data is removed within 30 days. Data obtained through YouTube API Services is deleted within seven days, as required by YouTube.

Option 2: Disconnect a specific platform

To remove a single connection (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, or LinkedIn), go to Settings and click "Disconnect" next to that account. This revokes our access and deletes the stored token immediately.

You can also revoke access directly from the platform:

  • Facebook, Instagram, and Threads — Meta account settings, under Apps and Websites
  • YouTube — Google Account permissions
  • Pinterest — Pinterest account settings
  • TikTok — TikTok settings, under Security & permissions
  • LinkedIn — LinkedIn account settings

Disconnecting stops future access. It does not delete content already published on that platform — you delete published posts from the platform itself.

Option 3: Request deletion by email

If you cannot access your account, email support@thepostengine.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and the email address on your account. We will process your request and delete all associated data within 30 days, and any YouTube API data within seven days. We may need to verify your identity first.

Option 4: Remove information about a non-user

The Post Engine can generate competitor reports from publicly available information about accounts, channels, and websites. If your public information appears in one of these reports and you want it removed, email support@thepostengine.com with the subject line "Removal Request" and identify the username, channel, or website URL concerned.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your hashed password
  • All connected social media access tokens
  • Your Brand DNA profiles and stored brand assets
  • All competitor analysis reports
  • All generated content, including captions and images
  • All uploaded media
  • All scheduled and published post records
  • Your usage counters and account activity logs
  • Your billing reference (payment data is held by Stripe and deleted under their policy)

Deleted information may remain in encrypted backups until those backups are overwritten. We may retain limited billing records where tax or accounting law requires it. See our Privacy Policy for full retention details.
